CANYON COVE RESORT IN NASUGBU

WHAT TO SEE?

Canyon Cove Resort has a total of 208 luxurious rooms and they also have day tour packages at a very affordable rates. Not too far from the busy life of Metro Manila and the scenery was just captivating. The moment i feel the sand of Canyon Cove beneath my feet , i already felt the breeze of summer. That clear water you just can't resist to take a dip, the wind that touches my face and that picturesque view, I just can't help my self but to take those "Kodak moments".

The swimming pool was one of the biggest pool I've seen and it's clean.. super clean... The architecture of the entire place was nice, it's indeed a relaxing place to spend with family, friends and love ones :)

WHAT TO DO?

Aside from swimming, you can also play volleyball, billiards, snorkeling, kayak, jet ski, island hopping, pedal boat and other water sport activities you can think off.

They also have a coffee shop, restaurant and a lobby bar. The food was okay and rates are reasonable.

But to top it all, THE SERVICE of this resort exceeds my expectation.  The staff was nice, polite and very accommodating.  They always smile and attend to our needs.

HOW TO GO?

From MRT Taft Station at back of  McDonald's, there's a bus terminal heading Batangas, (BLTB or JAM) - ride a bus heading to Nasugbu. Fare around 150 and travel time will be roughly 3 hrs. From the town proper hire a tricycle around 50php to 100php depends on your haggling skills. Ask the driver to take you to Canyon Cove , they will just drop you off the entrance gate, and you need to walk for about 10 to 15 minutes.

HOW MUCH TO SPEND?

Room Rates starts at 5000php

Day Tour - 800php (300php consumable)

Fare - Taft to Nasugbu - 150php one way

        - Nasugbu town proper to Canyon Cove via tricycle - 50php one way

Lunch /meryenda -  add 200php on top of the 300php consumable and you'll be fine

WHEN TO GO?

Summer will always be the best time but you can go anytime since they also have a very nice swimming pool. But whenever you feel stress in life and work get a quick getaway to this place . It will give you a peace of mind and tons of relaxation.

TRAVELS 2013

2013 was not a year for travel .. it's time to focus on my career.  Last quarter of 2012, I am fully decided to leave my comfort zone and face new challenges in life.  But things did not work out the way it should be but still I'm happy cause I found a new and better job in a Financial account.  It may not be the DREAM job for me but for sure it can fulfill one of my dreams.

Yes, i did less travel for 2013. It's the main reason why I also got less post, or maybe i'm not so inspired to do one.  But 2013 was indeed one of the best if not the best year in my life. Here's my travels for 2013

CASA ASTILLERO IN CALATAGAN, BATANGAS

My Team

This was the last team building for TEAM US VIRGINNI ISLAND and we all had a blast.  It will be one of the most unforgettable moment since it was my LAST but i'm happy being with my kids. They all supported me through thick and thin. They also understand why I needed to leave. Some of them also left before and after I leave the travel account.  I tried to keep in touch with them as often as a I can cause whenever I talked to them it brings out happy memories. (JOEL CRUZ)

The place was in Calatagan, Batangas, it was a nice quick getaway for all us. It was a perfect place for us.  Low tide plus the shore was a bit  rocky but it was not a hindrance not to enjoy the scenery. The sunset and sunrise was the ones we enjoyed most since most of us were photo addicts, selfies addicts and just addicted to take tons of photos.

I miss my kids so much.They're one of the reason why I stayed. They're the reason why I exist in this account.  They're the reason why we became the NUMBER ONE TEAM.  Thank you kids... Thank you so much!!!

SINGAPORE

Chinese Garden , Singapore

Stayed here for couple of months and maybe working in overseas was not really for me.  This was one of the hardest challenge I had so far.  Imagine your self waking up in the morning, to cook your breakfast, eat alone, prepare to work, work the entire day, dinner then sleep just to wake up in the morning to do the same routine again. During weekends you need to do your laundry cause nobody will do it for you and then iron it the following day. If your friendly enough you'll have weekend gimiks like, jogging, playing badminton or swimming, or attend some mass or service or watch movies or just a plain food trip or picnic with your friends. Yes that would be your life. I asked my friends where's the bar or drinking session nights but it was too expensive to splurge on this stuff even cigarettes are expensive here.

Then I asked them, If there happy, but they asked me back, HOW DO I DEFINE HAPPINESS? my question seems to be quite hard to answer so they just gave me these reasons: Salary was incomparable than what they get in the Philippines, their family needs the extra money for their siblings education, college education of their kids, parents medicine, support their family and others. Then I thought if there families only sees their sacrifices here they would be able to put more appreciation in every dollar they receive.

Singapore thought me so many lessons in life, to value family, friends and work. And for that I thank all of those people I met during my short visit, my wonderful housemates in Clarence lane, my life group, my berks previous officemates and schoolmates. Hats off to all of you !!!

TAGAYTAY

Been to Tagaytay a couple of times but not this cold.  It was indeed freezing but here I am wearing shorts and not so thick jacket. Tried the Bulalo and tapa, then visited Sonya's Garden, People's Park, Sky Ranch and Picnic Grove. It was very refreshing and you can never go wrong in Tagaytay :)

I want to close the year to do what I love most which is travelling.  And I thank my bestfriend for giving me the opportunity to travel again. Vising the Canyon Cove was indeed a refreshing experience for the year that was and I'm so backkkk.

I miss the fine sand that covers my feet, the clear blue water that enlightens my eyes, the sun that kisses my skin and the people who touches my heart whenever I hear their stories.  I miss this and the place was just a great way to jump start my travels again.

So that's my 2013... nothing much right but I learned a lot this year... Thank you for taking time to read my posts.. Thank you for all of your support.  2014 will be a balance between travels and work - but i'm praying for more trips this year :).

SENTOSA ISLAND

 

This is not my first time to visit Sentosa Island but everytime I go there, they always have something new to offer, so it is as if my first time. This is one of those places that you need to spend a day or two just to enjoy it since your paying a HUGE amount of money for the experience :)

How to go?

You have lots of options:

• Cable Car -  this would be the the most exciting way to go there for $26SGD located in Harbourfront.  And yes, i tried it on my first visit and you will be able to see the aerial view of the city.

• Express Train - If $26SGD was quite expensive for you, then take the train in Vivo City for $4SGD only.  This is a smaller version of MRT.
• Sentosa Boardwalk - If you're up for a long walk and want to have a little bit of exercise during your trip, then take this option. There are walkalators on the Boardwalk with gaps just to lessen your stress. This will only cost you $1SGD to enter Sentosa (CHEAPEST)

• Bus - there's a bus outside Harbourfront that would bring you to RSW (Resorts World) for less than $2SGD  

What to See?

• Universal Studios Singapore (USS) - Entrance Fee  $74SGD - this was a little bit expensive for me since I'm not really adventurous on rides and not a Woody Woodpecker fan. I skip it :)  But please don't be discourage to go, I'm sure you will enjoy it somehow. 

• Marine Life Park - So many things have change since the last time I step on this Island and this is just one of them. It was divided into two parts that cost $33SGD each:

1. S.E.A Aquarium - The WORLD's Largest Aquarium and you will never be disappointed  since they do have tons of fish varieties, gazillion gallons of water, humongous aquarium, and a big area to put everything together.  
2. Adventure Cove Waterpark - due to lack of time I was not able to swim here (Which i regret up until this day) The water slides, swimming pools, and other attraction that they have was so amazing.  Kids and kids at heart will love it here. 

• Songs of the Sea - for $12SGD, you will enjoy the lights and sounds of this show.  It was my first time to see images on water with different light colors and I was like a 7 year old kid watching.  

• Skyline Luge Sentosa - $13SGD and you can experience the Skyride which I think was okay but if your afraid of heights you wont enjoy it, but the LUGE was awesome. Luge will be my all time favorite ride in Singapore especially if your racing with your friends..  Epic moments  :)

• Tiger Sky Tower - $15SGD and you will be elevated for about 131 meter above sea level.  Seeing Sentosa, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia up there will be another experience so have your cameras ready and take those shots.

• Beaches - beaches in Sentosa do not charge any fees the Palawan, Siloso and Tanjong just make sure you'll bring some food , picnic blanket , and a good company to make it more special.  

• iFly Singapore - sky diving is part of my MUST DO BEFORE I DIE but it cost more than what I can pay for, $99SGD. I regret that I was not able to save some money for this coz I know it will be worth it. Have you tried this one? how does it feel? 

Where to Eat?

There are tons of food stalls, restaurant and fine dining scattered all over the island so do not worry just in case you got hungry.  

Where to Stay?

This is so obvious, i think the Resorts World Sentosa will give you lots of choices for your accommodation. Just pick something that goes with your budget and preferences.   Rates are around $250SGD per night.
